Many of the businessmen of Chittagong have expressed resentment to the BBC, but Chittagong is said to be commercial capital, but there is a growing incidence of water logging every year, which has threatened the business. They think it is necessary to take initiative from national level to get rid of this crisis.

In Khatunganj wholesale market of Chittagong, it is seen that warehouses and warehouses are covered

Or damaged products have been spread on the street.

After trying to dry the sun after some water is removed, the traders of the market are now trying to save it. For consumers of all kinds of consumer goods including rice, pulses and oil, the prevailing environment of the buyers in the country's largest market is not seen now. Everything is stagnant.

Last week the wholesale market was closed for three days. Many of the traders of Khatunganj say that the situation is frustrating. They are becoming depressed.

The traders of Chittagong are getting affected every year due to water logging every year. This year they have suffered a lot of waterlogging in five phases.

They have accepted that they should be compensated for their losses. But whether there is a panic in relation to water logging, it is now a big question for businessmen there.

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Mahbubul Alam said water logging problem threatened their business.

"Not only in Khatunganj but there are many warehouses in different places in Chittagong, there has been a loss of water everywhere due to water logging, which has resulted in loss of nearly Tk 500 crore." Many portions of water have been damaged in Chittagong port too.

The business leader also said, everyone is concerned about the problem of Chittagong. But there is no real or effective initiative to solve.

The negative impact of water logging in Chittagong has also been on the import of the country's main seaports.

A complaint has been raised locally, City Corporation Mayor Azam Nasiruddin and City Development Authority Chairman Abdus Salam, both of whom are related to the ruling Awami League. They both denied the allegation.

Abu Tayeb, the top garment trader in Chittagong, believes that permanent solution to the local water logging in Chittagong will not be possible without the national initiative.

"In the last few days, export of imported goods to the Chittagong port was stopped, it is not just Chittagong, but also the export of imported goods across the country, the garment industry or any export-oriented industry said that its lion's share is mostly from this port, and it will be wrong to see the problem of water logging as a local problem. "

But Chittagong mayor Azam Nasiruddin claimed that considering the importance of Chittagong city corporation, they are planning permanent solutions in their limitations.

Chittagong Development Authority Chairman Abdus Salam also said that they are taking projects worth Tk 6000 crore.

Though these projects are spoken locally, the businessmen of Chittagong are now seeking intervention from the top level of the government to solve the water crisis crisis.
