Awami League will not survive if BNP goes to the polls: Moudud

Awami League will not survive if BNP goes to the polls: Moudud

Party's Standing Committee member Moudud Ahmed said that if the BNP is going to the polls, the country's political image will change.

In a discussion meeting on Saturday, he said, "The dams that the government has created, I think they are watching the day-to-day. By creating this dam you can finally make one selection - it will not be possible now.

"I say, if the BNP is going to the electoral field, the political picture of the country will be changed. Awami League will not be able to survive in front of us once a public rally will be held. "

Moudud also urged everyone to be cautious about the Awami League's efforts to foil the eleventh parliamentary elections to remain in power for fear of 'public outcry'.

Despite not being in the constitution, the Prime Minister's statement about the formation of the election-time government has created a 'new opportunity'.

Moudud said, "The Prime Minister has declared the election-time government- it is very good. I would say, there is nothing in our constitution as election time government means that he came out of the constitution a little bit. Then a chance has been created.

"Since the election-time government is not in the constitution, we will assume - he is thinking of a election-time government coming out of the constitution. If so, we must welcome him, cooperate. Then all the people can take necessary measures to make the next election free, fair and neutral through an understanding. "

The discussion was held on the occasion of 82th birth anniversary of Ziaur Rahman in the initiative of the Bangladesh Youth Forum at the National Press Club.

The meeting was chaired by Mahmudul Hasan Shamim, Vice-President Mahmudul Hasan Shamim and Chairman of BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council Zainul Abdin Farroque, Executive Committee member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah and Khaleda Yasmin spoke in the chair.
