Myanmar agree to withdraw Rohingyas

Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali has said that Myanmar has agreed to withdraw the Rohingya who took shelter in Bangladesh from the Rakhine state, who lost their resources and relatives. He told reporters after a meeting with Myanmar cabinet minister Dr Trivedi Swar, who visited the Padma in the state guest house, on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, talks began between Bangladesh-Myanmar before 11am. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary said. Shahidul Haque, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser were also present. Apart from Myanmar's cabinet minister, two senior officials of the country were present in the meeting. 

After the meeting, the Foreign Minister said that the dialogue between the two countries was very fruitful. Myanmar agreed to take back the Rohingyas of their countrymen. For this, the two countries will form a joint agreement and working group. In light of the agreement, the working group will return the Rohingyas seeking refuge in Bangladesh after verifying them. I am very optimistic about this discussion.

He said that in the meeting, besides the Rohingya crisis, bilateral issues were discussed in the border with both the countries.

Within a few days to discuss the security issue, our Home Minister will visit Myanmar. In the meeting, the issue of zero tolerance policy against terrorism has also been informed to Myanmar.
